About Us
The Institute for Development of Technology for Rural Advancement is settled at the city of temples, Vrindaban, Mathura in the state of Uttar Pradesh approximately 150 Km south-east of the national capital – New Delhi. It is nearly 15 km from Mathura junction railway station, 12 km from Mathura bus stand, 2 km from Vrindaban railway station and 1 km from the Vrindaban Bus Stand on the Tatiya Sthan Road (Nearest airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi for international flights and Palam Airport, New Delhi and Kheria airport, Agra for domestic connections.)
BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
IDTRA, like all other institutes and laboratories, has a Board of Management, which monitors the affairs of the institute within the framework of the rules & regulations and directions & guidelines. The Board of Management acts as an appellate authority for the grievances of the employees of the institute, as also the authority to write off the irrecoverable material and monetary losses of the institute, within the limits. It also exercises such functions and powers as are not specifically assigned to the Research Advisory Board or the Director. The Board of Management has a 5-year term, and consists of the President (by post), Secretary (by post), 2 members of the governing body (nominated by the general body) as its chairman, Secretary and members, respectively; Managing Director of the institute as its Joint Secretary; 2 Research advisors (On rotation), one legal advisor (nominated by the general body), one technical staff (on rotation)and one non technical and scientific staff (on rotation)of the institute.
RESEARCH ADVISORY BOARD
IDTRA, like all other institutes and laboratories, has a Research Advisory Board which plays a crucial role in the institute's functioning by —
A new Research Board is constituted every 5 years by the President of the governing body, and it consists of internal and external experts. The Managing Director of the institute by post is the chairman of the Board.
MANDATE
The Mandate of the Institute is to undertake research, training and extension education programmes for improving productivity and awareness to enhance the advancement and development in the rural sector of the country and conservation of their culture, traditions and craft and welfare of human and animals

OBJECTIVES

ORGANIZATION
Director is the principal executive, head of the institute and joint secretary of the Board of the Management of the Institute and the chairman of the Research Advisory Board. Research Advisory Board suggests research programmes based on national and global context for guiding research in the drive areas, besides reviewing the research achievements of the institute and its consistency in accordance with the mandate of the institute.
GOVERNING BODY
The governing body of the institute is D.T.R.A. Trust, Vrindaban, Mathura which is registered under National Trust Act 1882 at Mathura (Uttar Pradesh) (Registration No. 102 Dated 10-05-2010). The governing body consists of general body and executive body.
GENERAL BODY
The general body consists of all the general members of the governing body. Any one of the Indian nationals may be general member of the governing body fulfilling the criteria passed by the general body in its meeting dated 09-05-2010 on proposal no. 2. The valid general body of the governing body at present inforce is as given below:
EXECUTIVE BODY
The executive body of the governing body is fully democratic. The mode of constituting executive body is election by the general body. The executive body consists of president, vice president and secretary one each and four executive members. The tenure of executive body is five years from the date of election.
